MEET ANTON
Anton A. Bell is a career prosecutor who has devoted his legal career to public safety throughout the Hampton Roads area. As a native and life long resident of Hampton Roads, Attorney Bell was reared by a single mother in the urban settings of Norfolk. Overcoming the many challenges and temptations that so very often entrap African American males, Bell went on to graduate from Norfolk Catholic High School (now Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School). Following high school, Attorney Bell attended Norfolk State University and North Carolina Central University School of Law (both Historically Black Colleges/Universities) where he graduated with Honors.

After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar, Anton began his career as a prosecutor in the City of Portsmouth, later bringing his expertise to Hampton. For over two decades, he has served in various roles within the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, starting with the prosecution of child molestation cases. His dedication to protecting the most vulnerable quickly earned him a reputation for excellence and compassion.

In 2012, Anton was elected as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Hampton. In his role as Chief Law Enforcement Officer, Anton spearheaded many preventative programs targeting at risk youth. This platform enabled Anton to expand and showcase his portfolio of gifts to assist him in his vast array of initiatives.

Today, Anton is a sought after speaker, coach, consultant, and soon to be published author. Anton frequently serves as a guest legal commentator on the nationally syndicated channel, Courttv. He is also the co-host on The Crew Radio Show podcast. In addition, Anton has served in statewide leadership roles such as the President of Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys and the Chairperson of the Commonwealth’s Attorneys Services Council.

Beyond the courtroom, Anton has dedicated himself to mentoring younger generations. His groundbreaking initiative, Junior Commonwealth’s Attorney Program (JCAP) still serves as Virginia’s premiere legal bootcamp for middle and high school students. Infusing the principles of exposure, education, and empowerment; JCAP has positioned hundreds of students to be Game Changers.
